The Urban Recovery House team is excited to announce that the Brooklyn Community Board 6 has voted overwhelmingly in favor of supporting our project.  After months of meetings and presentations, the board felt URH did more then enough to gain support.  The board understood that URH went above and beyond what was required to receive the license from the Office of alcoholism and substance abuse services.

“I live in this community, I am part of this community and giving back to the surrounding areas will only enhance the community in which I’m living and raising a family.”
Michael Mosrberg, Founder

Urban Recovery House fully intends to back this statement.  This mean URH anticipates hiring locally from within the community. Not to mention that most, if not all, of the catering and supplies bought and used by URH will be sourced locally.  The URH team hopes Brooklyn will welcome us with open arms and we look forward to being an integral part of the neighborhood.

URH meets Community Board 6

Urban Recovery House had the privilege of presenting in front of Community Board 6 the other night in Red Hook.  URH principal Michael Mosberg explained to the audience of more then 40 about the business and company as a whole while partner Johan Sorensen spoke in detail about the clinical aspects.

The Community Board asked URH to hold off on submitting the OASAS application so that they would be able to allow the constituents to get a better understanding of the project.  URH explained that for the license the only obligation was to make the community board aware of the project but were happy to oblige to the request.

A few of the local journalists were in attendance:

Hello Brooklyn!

When deciding where to build the first facility, the conversation between the principals began and ended with Brooklyn.  It was clear that presently, no such facility in New York City exists that comes close to matching the high quality of amenities and individualized care URH intends to offer.  Urban Recovery House Founder Michael Mosberg currently resides in Carol Gardens, just a few short miles away from Red Hook, the neighborhood URH envisions to call home.
